It has been awhile since I posted here, but I just learned about an
interesting "feature" of Google Adsense. What do fly fishing and dating
sites have in common? Let's find out why ads for dating sites might
show up on a web page that is predominately about fly fishing. You
might want to read on so you don't get "busted."

Traditionally from a retail point of view, "Black Friday" is that
Friday after the US Thanksgiving when retail shops begin their
Christmas campaign. Interestingly, I saw a number of Christmas displays
in some stores a couple of weeks ago and heard Christmas Carols
playing. It is not a holiday, but

Tim Horton's coffee! Finally! Driving down I-75, wanting a coffee,
dreading another cup of the stuff that is called coffee, I saw a sign
for Tim Horton's, just outside Saginaw. Being a good Canadian, my
reflexes were quick and I managed to get into the lane for the

Twenty five years ago, when I drove through Northern Wisconsin, I was
half asleep having driven all the way from Havre, Montana without any
rest. However, I did notice how beautiful they "Dairyland" State was
with it's rolling hills, forests, streams, lakes and rivers and I
always wanted to

When we woke up this morning, we decided against driving through
Chicago for a variety of reasons. So we chose another route which
carries on via Hwy 2 through northern Minnesota - the same highway
we've been traveling almost since entering the US in Montana. This
evening, we stopped

At least for today. 764 km (about 462 miles) of driving in 8 hours was
enough. We left Glasgow, Montana earlier with the thought we might try
to make it to Fargo, North Dakota but decided to call it a day in Grand
Forks, ND. Montana never seemed to end.

Glasgow, Montana that is. We left Edmonton at about 3PM yesterday
(Friday) and headed to Red Deer where we had to stop for a couple of
errands that needed to be made. A pair of Wranglers from Lamlies (the
cut I like is difficult to find in Ontario), as well as

Anyone remember the song done originally in North America by Hank Snow
and then later by others including Johnny Cash? I do... and sometimes I
think I could come up with my own version especially after this week.

So you can't always go by Google Maps. The directions were good, but
the estimated time of the trip was almost double than the actual length
of time. Google Maps said it would take over 9 hours to drive the 535
km (about 320 miles) from Whitecourt to Fort McMurray.
